“I’m not throwing away my shot,” Alexander Hamilton declares. That is especially true in this case, as fans of the musical Hamilton should not pass up the opportunity to see the acclaimed musical up close and live in Singapore.
The Tony®, Grammy®, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning show HAMILTON will have its premiere in Singapore in 2024, as announced by producers Jeffrey Seller and Michael Cassel.
The musical is set to show at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands from 19 April 2024. Fans are invited to sign up for the queue before tickets go on sale at Marina Bay Sands and SISTIC on 14 November 2023.
After its sold-out premiere in Manila in September and an impending season in Abu Dhabi in January, Singapore becomes the third stop on HAMILTON’s first-ever international tour.
Opening to Wide Acclaim
After opening on Broadway, where it received rave reviews, HAMILTON has played on the West End in London, Down Under, and in Europe, with stops in the Philippines and Abu Dhabi before making its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore.
With a score that fuses hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON transforms the narrative of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers, into a revolutionary moment in theatre, one that has had a significant impact on culture, politics, and education.
Based on Ron Chernow’s popular memoir, HAMILTON is the tale of America then told by America now, with book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, directing by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.
With 11 Tony Awards®, 7 Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s global sensation has been enthralling people all around the world since it first came to life.
Michael Cassel, CEO of Michael Cassel Group and producer of the international tour of HAMILTON, has expressed his excitement about bringing the show to Singapore.
Hope, equality, and the transformative power of narrative are universal themes explored in HAMILTON. The production team is thrilled to see the play resonate with Singapore’s audience after its success in Australia and the Philippines.
