Peddlers Gin Company Launches Salted Plum Gin in Singapore

Gin lovers have one more reason to grin about. Peddlers Gin Company has just dropped Salted Plum Gin, a silky gin concoction, in the market.

Peddlers takes its cue from conventional sloe gins but adds an East Asian twist by infusing their gin with salted plum, a staple ingredient in the summertime dishes of northern China known as Suan Mei Tang, one of China’s oldest alcoholic beverages.

Three months are spent infusing salted plum, mulberry, hawthorn, and osmanthus into the Peddlers’ original award-winning Shanghai Gin. After being distilled, the gin spends a month ageing in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, where it picks up vanilla and wood flavours and a dry finish.

Salted Plum Gin Taste Profile

The underlying juniper notes are enriched with top notes of salted plum, dates, and mulberry. Flavours of hawthorn, liquorice, and citrus then enter, bringing a rich depth to the gin that is balanced by dry sherry notes at the end.
