Ever been on a flight before and gotten disappointed with the choice of food options on board? Well, you can be sure you won’t be if you take a SilkAir flight. With the official launch of the All-Time Favourites menu on SilkAir, the full-service regional wing of Singapore Airlines, Business Class customers can now choose from a specially curated selection of meals with 20 options across Asian, Western, and Singaporean cuisines.

According to SilkAir’s Chief Executive Foo Chai Woo, not only are the dishes curated for the All-Time Favourites menu a reflection of SilkAir’s multi-cultural Singaporean heritage, they also pay tribute to the 49 diverse destinations that SilkAir fly too, including the latest route to Laos which will commence from 31 October 2016.

With 20 options to choose from, be prepared to be spoilt for choices.

Beef Brisket with Eefu Noodle

Among The Oriental menu offerings are the signature Singapore Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Carrot Cake with XO Chilli Sauce, Fried Hokkien Mee, and the comforting Sliced Fish Congee with finely sliced ginger, spring onions and shallots. Our favourite on the Oriental menu though, has to be the Beef Brisket with Eefu Noodle. Marinated with Five Spice Sauce, the dish serves up a slight kick for the moderately adventurous, a nice preamble to the start of your holiday. The Eefu noodles were soft and tangy, and remarkably flavourful for an in-flight dish.

Customers who prefer Western meals can look forward to dishes like the Roasted Salmon Fillet, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and a flavoursome Braised Lamb Stew in Caraway Sauce. The Blueberry Pancakes stood out for its fluffiness.

Nasi Goreng with Chicken Satay and Egg

The distinct star of the Muslim menu is the Nasi Goreng, a Malay Style Fried Rice served with Chicken Satay and Egg. The satays are handmade – grilled and skewered without the help of any machinery. Other Muslim favourites like the Roti Jala, the Singapore Nasi Lemak, and the Ikan Assam, are also available for selection on the All-Time Favourites menu.

You can now book your favourite meals up to 24 hours before the flight, via the respective SilkAir or Singapore Airlines websites, or through travel agents and the SilkAir or Singapore Airlines reservations offices, and will be available for all meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
