The airline industry has been abuzz with excitement in the past year, and it’s all because of the Airbus A350. In fact, today marks exactly one year since Qatar Airways flew the world’s newest and most modern commercial jet to Singapore and Asia.

Yes, you might not have known — our national carrier Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first A350 jet in March this year, Qatar Airways has already been flying the A350 to Singapore, 10 months to be exact.

Much hype both in Singapore and worldwide surrounds the A350 because it is hailed as the ideal aircraft for long-haul travel. You get the ultimate passenger comfort as the A350 is designed reduce jet lag; that itself is certainly music to many frequent jetsetters. Larger windows, roomier seats, higher ceilings and fourth-generation in-flight entertainment equipment all add to the best possible passenger experience you can get. It’s not hard to see why the jet is drawing so much interest.

Being the global launch customer for the A350 XWB, Qatar Airways has the largest fleet of this aircraft type than any airline in the world. Currently, all three daily flights Qatar Airways makes to Singapore are with the A350 XWB.

Qatar Airways is not just making waves with the A350. It’s named the World’s Best Airline last year at the Skytrax World Airline Award, often deemed as the Oscars of the aviation industry. This is the third time Qatar Airways has won the coveted award in 5 years.

We think the other airlines really need to play catch-up soon.
