Brotzeit Introduces Two New Beers to Beat the Heat

0

The relentless heat wave in Singapore is just the perfect excuse to visit Brotzeit and try their latest beers on tap. Celebrating their 10 years in Singapore, Brotzeit is introducing four draft beers for the first time in Singapore from Franziskaner and Löwenbräu, both considered as Germany’s heritage breweries. This is on top of marking the establishment of the Reinheitsgebot, or the German Beer Purity Law, the oldest known food regulation still in effect today, and it is a sign of top quality beer that the two beer breweries are fine examples of it.

Löwenbräu, meaning “lion’s brew”, is established in 1383 and well-known as one of the official beers of Munich’s Oktoberfest. They will have their Original Münchner Lager and Dunkel Lager on offer. Franziskaner started 20 years early has been brewing their beers in accordance to the Bavarian purity requirements in Munich and is considered as the top three beers in Germany.

For the hot weather, I whole-heartedly recommend Löwenbräu’s clear Lager to drive down ‘heatiness’ in our bodies. I would consider it as one of the best “ang moh liang teh” or Caucasian cooling tea I have tasted for some time that is both refreshing and yet have a rich after taste. If you do love the wheaty taste of Belgium’s Hoegaarden beer, then Franziskaner’s Hefe Weissbier would be the choice here but it is stronger and more robust. If you do prefer a much stronger beer to go with the meat dishes, both Franziskaner Dunkel Hefe – Weissbier and Löwenbräu Original Münchner will enhance the flavour of Brotzeit’s new dishes that goes with the beers.

Those who have visited Brotzeit before would be well acquainted with their famous spiced sausages and Roasted Pork Knuckle, marinated with beer and takes 48 hours of preparation for that crispy and not so oily skin with that tender meat just peeling off from the bone. Brotzeit has gave us another reason to come back to their restaurant – their slightly spicy honey Bavarian pork ribs is flavourful with hints of dark beer that even those with heavy palates would appreciate the strong juicy taste and aroma.

To celebrate the launch of Franziskaner and Löwenbräu , the four beers is available now at a special price of S$10 per half litre till the 27 April. Time to beat the heat. Prost!
