Flavours of The Fullerton Heritage is Back

There are days when everything seems to go wrong at work, and all I want to do is to momentarily escape from the stress and chaos. Step out of the office, get some fresh air and enjoy a long lunch. I was especially delighted to find out Flavours of The Fullerton Heritage is back. And I took a break and had a three-course set lunch at The Landing Point.

Facing the waterfront, The Landing Point serves classic comfort food which is what I need to continue my battle at work. For lunch, they offer a set menu where I got to select my preferred entrée and main, followed by dessert and a choice of coffee or tea.

For my appetiser, I picked the classic French Onion soup as I was craving for something warm and comforting. And I made the right choice. The sweet and savoury soup was served with melty, hot Gruyère cheese croutons. I can never resist the creamy and nutty Swiss cheese. As I finished my soup, I almost did an “Oliver Twist” – I want some more.

Next was my main – The Landing Point’s signature Duck Confit which was served on top of a bed of Le Puy lentils, gremolata and a serving of green salad. The duck was rendered beautifully and the lentils were cooked to perfection, retaining a bite. I also greedily took a bite of my lunch partner’s Pan Roasted Salmon with Saffron Sauce. The fish was not over-cooked and I love the crispy skin.

To finish my lunch, we were served the ever so popular Lemon Meringue Tart with Raspberry Fruit Coulis. The tangy lemon curd refreshed the palate and snapped me awake from my food coma. Very reluctantly, I dragged myself back to work.
