However when it comes down to sneakers, any sneaker of any shape, size or colour of preference can be found. With SKECHERS’ flagship store’s opening at Ngee Ann City last Wednesday on 1 July, we consumers are truly spoilt for choice.
To the uninitiated, SKECHERS is the number one walking footwear brand in the United States. Its products range from stylish and functional Lifestyle and Performance footwear for both men and women to flashy and colourful kicks for kids.
The official opening of SKECHERS’ 18th and largest flagship store was filled with fanfare and excitement as the newly appointed SKECHERS’ ambassadors and highly popular K-POP girl group SISTAR graced the opening ceremony. Over 300 members of the media and VIP guests watched as SISTAR, comprising the beautiful and multi-talented Hyolyn, Soyou, Dasom and Bora, along with the top management team of SKECHERS activated a SKECHERS light globe with their hands to symbolise the opening of the new flagship store. It was definitely a joyous occasion for all, especially for SISTAR fans to be breathing the same air as these four international acclaimed KPOP stars.
The highlight of the evening had to be the After-Party, held right outside ION Orchard. It started with a dance performance to whet our appetites, followed by a sumptuous fashion show featuring everything SKECHERS and a glorious hot sweet and sticky mini-concert performance dessert by SISTAR. The 1000-strong audience jammed out to SISTAR’s new song “Shake It” from their latest mini album, and two of their old but gold hits “Ma Boy” and “Touch My Body”.

For the month of July2015, customers only need to spend S$150 nett in a single receipt to receive the SKECHERS Membership (Normal membership requires a spending of S$250 over three months.)
