For those of you who love beach getaways and prefer running as your exercise, this recently announced event may just be the perfect way to combine both. AirAsia Indonesia is the title sponsor of the 2015 edition of Bali Beach Run with the popular tourist spot, Kuta Beach as the background. Touted as Indonesia’s first and one of the world’s fun run-races, the organiser announces Sunday, September 6 as this year’s date.

After a hiatus last year, the fun run competition returns with upgrades to the race categories – now 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km – on the stretch of Kuta Beach. The beach is conveniently located near all the attractions and facilities you can think of. You won’t have to worry as hundreds of hotels, restaurants, shopping and entertainment complex are within walking distance from the race course.

Bali Beach Run 2015 registration is now open at www.balibeachrun.com. If you are in Bali, register at the booth located at Kuta Beachwalk Mall, 1st floor, until August 6. The registration fees are IDR 150,000 for 2.5 km, IDR 200.000 for 5 km, and IDR 250.000 for 10 km. All participants will receive an exclusive race pack that includes a jersey, race number and medal.

The 10-km route. Look to your left, it’s white sand beaches all the way. Your right? Posh beach clubs and hotels.

A recent check on AirAsia’s fare if you’re flying in from Singapore can set you back from SGD 309 for return flights. Expect similar fares throughout the weekend. Fly from KLIA2 in Kuala Lumpur with fares from MYR 546 return. You still have weeks to prepare your race-ready fitness.

If you will be there for the fun part only, I suggest you can spend more time preparing your Bali itinerary. After all, it’s not your typical CBD city marathon, it’s Bali Beach Run.
