Nap in the City: Take Forty Winks at this Cool Nap Lounge in Hong Kong

Ever stifled a yawn during a post-lunch meeting and thought of having a quick nap? Well, you’re not alone.

If you too have spent your days dreaming of comfortable beanbags in quiet corners or just a moment of silence away from the busy office crowds, that dream has finally come true in Hong Kong. The bustling city of Hong Kong now boasts the innovative Nap Lounge, the inspiration of hotelier David Lau, owner of the successful Popway hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Nap Lounge provides private cabins for rental, and has been launched in three ideal locations for the fatigued office executive: Des Voeux Road in the very heart of Central, Gloucester Road of Wan Chai, and finally, Tsim Sha Tsui East. These convenient locations ensure that the nap you have been longing for is just footsteps away.

For those of us who have experienced and know how important power naps can be, this is how the Nap Lounges work. The private cabins, allowing only one guest at a time, can be rented in 15-minute increments from their online booking platform. While rentals can range from a short 15 minutes to a full hour of satisfying rest, Nap Lounge guarantees that each cabin is turned over completely after each stay. Moreover, given the owner’s experience with hotel management, the service provided at these Nap Lounges is efficient and just as hospitable.

Each room has its own recliner, along with a set of fresh sheets and warm blankets, perfect for keeping you warm as you drift off to dreamland. One important highlight: it definitely is a reprieve from the endless calls and e-mails, because these cabins are a noise-free and phone-free zone, creating a tranquil environment for just you and your sleep.

Apart from giving your body the recharge it needs, Nap Lounges are perhaps also the solution to the dilemma we all have before attending another appointment in the evening. Sometimes you may need a change of clothes, or have a good hour or two to kill before heading off to your next destination. Nap Lounges mean you no longer have to squeeze yourself into small toilet cubicles or aimlessly window shop to kill time, but instead can refresh yourself in a calm, peaceful room in private.

Two classes of cabins are available for selection – Business Cabins and First Class Cabins. Both enjoy the comfort of the recliner, in addition to free wi-fi, a spread of newspapers and magazines, slippers and toothbrush sets. The overall experience is enhanced by soothing scents and in-room headsets that channel calming music into your ears, to help you make the most of your naptime.

The hungry businessperson that skips a meal for a meeting will also delight at the communal refreshment stations, and can help themselves to complimentary beverages and snacks. First Class cabins enjoy a larger space, and guests can make use of the on-call refreshment service.

Nap Lounge hasn’t forgotten about our handy companions as well, and ensure all their guests’ needs are tended to. They provide chargers for our various gadgets and electronics, getting them ready for when we’re back on our feet and ready to go. They go a further step in catering to professionals, and offer printing, fax, copying and scanning services on demand. It also helps that a concierge service is available, so every guest leaves with all their necessary documents and tasks accomplished, and can smoothly head for their next stop with ease.

If you are ever in need of a quick energizer and have a good half an hour to spare, make a booking and immerse yourself in the Nap Lounge experience. With their accessibility and convenience, hopefully you will never find yourself drifting off to sleep in the middle of the workday again.
