The Spirit of Giving: Celebrate Christmas with PARKROYAL at Kitchener Road

0

“Christmas is not a time nor a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” This was mentioned by Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States.

The same sentiments seem to be echoed by Sharmini Moganasundram, General Manager of PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, who shared her motivations behind the hotel’s special Christmas programme. Moganasundram felt that helping the underprivileged in a time of giving, makes Christmas a lot more meaningful and it helps to remind people as to what the festive season is actually all about.

In the true spirit of Christmas, PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road lauches its second instalment of its annual corporate social responsibility project, A Gift of Hope. In partnership with the People’s Association and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, 30 children from low-income families will have their Christmas wishes granted. 24 of these children already had their Christmas wishes granted last year from well-meaning corporate and hotel guests with another six children joining the initiative this year.

This was followed by a sumptuous feast at Spice Brasserie where the children were extremely excited over the minion-themed set up dessert room for Christmas. When the children saw the room they could hardly believe their eyes and I remembered a few mentioning how they were so excited at the amount of food that was presented to them. Many were shrieking in delight whilst running around finding their friends to drag them into dessert heaven. It was a sight that truly warmed both the belly and the heart.

In a bid to make it a memorable occasion for everyone at home, PARKROYAL has made the experience a little more pleasant especially for families with children.

Spice Brasserie has specially dedicated one section of the restaurant to children; with slides and bouncy castles, parents can be well assured that their children will be having a ball of a time while they get to indulge in Flambé Cherries and the live making of Crêpe Suzettes. From pleasing the stomachs of the adults to creating an environment for the little ones to enjoy themselves, PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road has it all planned out.
